Trials and Tribulations

It's been a week and we're nearing the finish line in renovations. With every day that goes by each of us we find more and more reasons to love our new home. However with this joy comes the shock of responsibility and a shifting in thought of what's important for example I'm 3 weeks overdue on a mani/pedi and eyebrow waxing.

We went for a mustard yellow entrance/living room that feels warm and welcoming

The supposed flat screen TV mounting the previous owner
told us we inherited was actually an unfinished fireplace.
Another $500 to our renovation budget.
Jazzy chose a sunshine yellow for her room. Very fitting for her personality.
Lil Los wanted warm mocha colors in his room to reflect his Hot Chocolatte persona.
                                                               Big Los' red office
Didn't discover the built in organizing pantry until after we moved in! LOve, loVE, LOVE

Still no washer and dryer so today my mission is to take it old school. I certainly have enough trees to hang a line:)

In the process of getting this home I've learned so many new terms like seismic shut off's, fascia, broke (oh wait I knew that one already). But the phrase I've become most familiar with is "That's going to be an additional cost", which leads me to broke...again. Nonetheless the best part of my day is coming home to see what the painters and flooring guys have done. Over the last couple of days they have added colors to most of the rooms.  I'm so happy with the hues that Carlos and I have chosen as each truly reflects the personalities of us and our children.

The huge crack we found in the living room floor that was an additional cost to our flooring bill

The beautiful floors that I have been mopping since they were installed

We gave our bedroom (aka MY Boudoir) a modern two tone look
but the furnishings will show a more classic style

Guess what color Big Los' office is?!?!

Better Late than Never

Hi Friends,

Everyone has been asking question about our new home so I thought I would share some pictures, progress and thoughts. This has been such a stressful time for me I thought writing would be a good outlet as well as allow you to join us on this journey.

It's been 12 days since we officially closed on our new home. The renovations started Day 1 and they still continue. We're about 3/4 of the way through and it still feels unreal as I walk through the house unpacking and cleaning. SO MUCH CLEANING. For the record I love a clean house but I HATE cleaning.

Jazz informed me last night that it was our 3rd night sleeping in the new house...I didn't know she was counting.

This journey has made a big impact on our family in so many ways. Can't wait to share more.

V~
